Step Three

Mind and Consciousness (Our true reality)

This chapter is going to be challenging for you and difficult for many of you to understand. This implies no fault in you or your understanding or intelligence but many of the concepts will be new to you and like new skills such as swimming or riding a bike they have to be learned (and taught). It takes time, the desire to make the effort and practise.

My own belief is ultimately there is only mind – nothing else really exists other than as illusions (creations) of the mind and this includes all physical reality. If this observation makes no sense to you, leave it, forget it for now. It is not important. Visit it later if you wish.

What is important now (very important)?

Our minds create our own reality. Nothing happens or takes shape without thought and the thought will not hold substance without belief. Therefore we (the individual) create our own reality and as such we are never really victims and are always responsible for the life we are leading. If we are not happy with our lives it is always our thinking that is letting us down. Change your thinking – change your reality. You have the power.

How does this work?

It is only in recent times that scientists have started to grasp the rudiments of this reality. They have studied quanta (the study of minutiae) quantum physics. Keeping it very simple and I do not understand or know that much about it myself, it would appear that the fabric of the physical universe which is made up of atoms, molecules and smaller bodies cannot become a physical reality unless mind is on it. (In other words when it is being thought about) [observed].

When mind is not affecting the minute particles that create the physical, they are just waves like light waves or radio waves, just energy, potential and apparently not there but when a mind is on them, they turn from a wave into a particle and can group together to create the physical reality we see and feel hence the physical is at source illusional – a construct of mind.

You might say and think this must be rubbish. So, if I’m not thinking about something it disappears. My house is only there when I arrive home because I think it is. So, if I’m not there and thinking about it nobody else can see it. Yes and I believe the moon is made of cheese, there’s a man in it and flying pigs with pink spots also. I quite understand your scepticism but in a sense you were right. If you’re the only mind with the thought it is only that thought that creates the reality and it is yours alone and if the mind releases it, the reality disappears but with a thing like a house it has been created by countless minds and is made of solid matter which has also been created and solidified by countless minds. One mind creates a thought, 2 minds make the thought stronger and 100,000 start to solidify the thought and thus it becomes held in the mind of all who experience it (perceive it)

If you don’t understand this now – don’t worry – understanding will come at some point in the future. The only very important thing now is not to reject, to stay open-minded and to take the view, okay, I don’t understand this but it may be true so I’ll go with the flow and see where it leads me. After all, you all know gravity exists but do you understand it? – No – but you know its affect.

Reality as a product of mind is very much like gravity. We may not know how it works, we may not understand it but we know it is real and we can use it for our benefit or ignore it at our peril.

Consciousness

Consciousness is self-awareness, a product of your mind. You could even say mind is consciousness, the act of knowing. I am so I exist. Everything has mind, everything has consciousness.

It deeply saddens me here on Earth that humans think that they, with the animals as lessors are the only ones with consciousness. Every physical reality is a product of mind and as such is conscious. The rocks and the water and everything else are made up of minute and conscious organisms and therefore are conscious. Indeed, they are made up of the same material as you – everything is connected, everything is mind, everything is conscious. The consciousness of the planet is so vast, so powerful it is way beyond any individual here on earth. I doubt you’ll believe this. It is probably for most a completely new idea but again try not to reject, try to keep an open mind, a mind that can accept new things in faith and trust knowing that the source is loving and love always tries to speak true. It is easier to respect a conscious being so believing other elements of our physical reality are conscious should hopefully create a greater respect for them.

Certainly, there is scientific evidence for water being self-aware. Anybody who knows anything about plants know that they respond to love, care and attention and whither for the lack of when they’re out of their natural environment as are houseplants. This obviously makes them self-aware.

I explain these things for you to know that it is not just humans who suffer if they are abused and deprived of love. Everything suffers in the same way for the same reasons. Anyone who has a true love of the natural world will have experienced the positive feedback to your own mind from a walk in the woods, the meadows etc. Depression lifts, negativity is lightened and a feel-good factor kicks in like a bright morning sun on your back after you’ve walked through the dawn. These experiences show us our deep connection to nature, to everything, our oneness (love being the glue).

So now you’ve realised I’m a bit of a crazy, but a nice one. I just need plenty of company. Let’s all be a little bit crazy and out of the box. We have a lot at stake. We have a world to save.

P.S.

We have been in our box for 3000 years, thinking wrong thoughts, going the wrong way, treating black as white and vice-versa. It has given us control, it has given us greed and it has given nothing back. This is why we are losing it. I can show you how to be out of the box, how to give back and if enough of you respond we may well reverse our demise.
